BIG JV TRANSPORT · SHIPPING FREIGHT
What to include when requesting a dry van freight quote
Help a carrier price and plan your shipment with a clear route, dates, freight description, and loading requirements.

Give both ends of the route
Include the pickup and delivery city, state, and ZIP code. Let the carrier know whether each location is a warehouse, business, residence, or another type of facility. A city pair is a useful start, but the exact access and operating requirements matter when the team checks equipment and availability.
Be clear about dates and appointments
Provide the earliest pickup date, delivery date, and any appointment windows already confirmed. Say whether the dates are flexible. If a facility closes early, requires an appointment, or has limited receiving hours, include that information. A schedule that looks possible on paper may need adjustment after the carrier checks the full route and available driver time.
Describe what is going into the trailer
List the commodity, total weight, pallet count, and relevant dimensions. Explain whether the freight is palletized, floor loaded, unusually shaped, or difficult to handle. Tell the carrier about any special conditions before requesting a price. Do not assume that a standard dry van is suitable for every shipment; temperature control and other equipment needs require a separate discussion.
Explain the loading and unloading process
Mention dock access, forklift availability, whether assistance is expected from the driver, and any equipment requested by the facility. Include requirements for loading appointments, check-in instructions, or extended waiting. The team needs to know about these details before it can confirm that the truck and service fit the job.
Provide a reachable contact
Give a company name, contact person, phone number, and email. Identify who can answer questions about the freight and who can confirm the final arrangements. Good contact information helps avoid delays when a missing detail prevents a quote from being completed.
Treat the request as the beginning
A submitted form is an inquiry, not a confirmed truck or a final rate. Review the written price, equipment, dates, and any additional-charge terms before booking. Big JV’s quote form saves the request for the team to review, with availability and next steps discussed directly with you.
